Deputy Health Minister says alternative bed mobilization to be needed

Mobilization of alternative beds may become necessary if Covid-19 cases surge continues during the next 8-10 days, said Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia.

The official stressed setting up field hospitals may be needed, as the hospital sector has a maximum of 8 000 available beds in addition to added Covid-assigned special facilities. “The next few days will give us a clear picture,” she claimed.

Georgia reported 5 352 coronavirus cases, 2 635 recoveries, and 48 deaths on Wednesday.
