Deputy Economy Minister: Georgia records impressive export growth in April
Georgia has seen extraordinary growth in exports in April, with figures surpassing 41% to reach $617 million (£480 million), according to Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
Speaking about the latest foreign trade data, Tsintsadze highlighted that domestic exports also saw significant improvement, rising by approximately 20% to more than $260 million.
“The most noteworthy aspect is the substantial growth in locally-produced exports,” Tsintsadze told reporters.
The Ministry of Economy reports that beyond April’s record performance, the January-April 2025 period saw overall exports increase by 14.2%, reaching an unprecedented $2.01 billion. During this same period, domestic exports grew by 4.9%, totalling $902.2 million.
Tsintsadze emphasised that the current data confirms Georgia’s foreign trade structure is “quite diversified” in terms of both export and import country destinations.
“The Georgian government is continuously working to expand free trade agreements with partner countries, further diversify our foreign trade, and support the competitiveness of products manufactured in Georgia,” the Deputy Minister said.
