Deputy Economy Minister: Export growth confirms rising competitiveness of Georgian products

According to Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the growth and volume of exports once again confirm that production of local goods in Georgia is increasing and that these products are competitive in international markets.

Tsintsadze made the statement while assessing export data for January 2026. According to the figures, exports in January 2026 increased by 19 percent, reaching 480 million USD. Meanwhile, the volume of locally produced exports rose by 68 percent, totaling 313 million USD.

The Deputy Minister noted that this growth is supported by the government’s consistent policy aimed at strengthening businesses, particularly by increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.

According to Tsintsadze, Georgia’s free trade agreements have also contributed to this positive trend.

“We expect that the upward trend in exports will continue and be reflected in economic growth indicators. Accordingly, we have positive expectations for economic growth in 2026, as well as for other macroeconomic parameters,” he said.
