Deputy Economy Minister: Georgia records historic highs in exports and foreign trade in 2025

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze has summarized Georgia’s foreign trade trends for 2025, noting that both exports and overall trade turnover reached historic highs.

According to the Ministry of Economy, exports increased by 11.2% last year, reaching USD 7.3 billion. Foreign trade turnover also set a new record, exceeding USD 25.8 billion.

High export growth was also recorded in December 2025, when exports rose by 22.5% compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to USD 673.2 million. Imports in December increased by 8.5%, totaling USD 1.84 billion.

As a result, trade turnover in December 2025 amounted to USD 2.52 billion, which is 12% higher than in December of the previous year.

According to Tsintsadze, the Georgian government’s priority is to actively support the development of local production. This approach aims, on the one hand, to meet domestic demand with locally produced goods and, on the other, to further expand the export of Georgian products to international markets.

“To achieve this goal, the government supports local production through various state programs and promotes export expansion through free trade agreements. Ultimately, this contributes to increasing the competitiveness of Georgia’s economy and boosting exports of Georgian products to global markets,” the Deputy Minister stated.
