Church services for commemoration of souls of Unkers was held

Church services for commemoration of souls of the cadets (Unkers) was held at the chapel of Tbilisi Palace of the Parliament of Georgia.

The Church service was attended by the Speaker of the Parliament Irakli kobakhidze, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and members of the government and parliament of Georgia.

The Memorial of Unkers was decorated with flowers.

Today is the date which marks anniversary of occupation of Georgia by the Soviet Red Army. Georgian cadets resisted to the enemy in Kojori, near the entrance of Tbilisi. Majority of the cadets fell in battle on 24 February, 1921.

According to resolution of the Parliament signed on July 21, 2010, 25 February was declared as the Day of Soviet Occupation.
