Air Astana to begin Atyrau-Tbilisi flights, Deputy Economy Minister says
From May 27, Kazakh airline AIR ASTANA will start an Atyrau-Tbilisi route three times per week.
According to Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili, adding a new route emphasizes the growing demand from Kazakh tourists for Georgia.
“Kazakhstan is one of the fastest growing tourist destinations for Georgia. We are actively promoting our country to attract even more tourists from Kazakhstan.
‘Air Astana’ and ‘Fly Arystan’ operate flights to both Tbilisi and Kutaisi International Airports, and we’re adding a new direction from Atyrau, which emphasizes the fact that demand from Kazakh tourists is growing,” stated Mariam Kvrivishvili.
It’s worth noting that in 2024, 178,930 international visitors from Kazakhstan visited Georgia.
Economy Ministry noted that Central Asia’s largest airline, Air Astana, will operate direct flights from Almaty to Tbilisi during in summer nine times per week. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the airline will fly to Georgia’s capital twice a day.
According to the Ministry, seasonal flights on the Almaty-Batumi route will resume in June three times per week, and for the July-August, the airline is considering increasing frequencies to five times per week. Air Astana will also resume flights between Tbilisi and Kazakhstan’s capital Astana from June three times per week.
The low-cost FlyArystan operates flights from Kutaisi to five cities in Kazakhstan. During the summer season, the number of flights to and from Kazakhstan will increase from 10 to 17 times per week. FlyArystan operates direct regular flights to Kutaisi International Airport from Astana, Almaty, Atyrau, Aktau, and Shymkent.
