Deputy Economy Minister: Guest of honour status at CIIE to boost Georgian exports

Georgia has been granted the status of guest of honour at this year’s China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, a distinction that will provide greater visibility and promotion for Georgian products and is expected to boost exports, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili said.

According to Nadareishvili, Georgia has been participating in the CIIE—one of the world’s largest international trade exhibitions—since 2018, marking this year as its eighth consecutive appearance.

About 40 Georgian companies are showcasing a variety of products at the event.

The Georgian exhibition space, which includes three national pavilions, was visited by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who is currently on an official visit to China, along with Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili and Deputy Ministers Irakli Nadareishvili and Genadi Arveladze.

“In the Georgian National Pavilion, we present the country’s culture, gastronomy and folklore, as well as beverages, food, and consumer goods. We realistically expect exports from Georgia to grow further, particularly in food, beverages, textiles, and consumer goods,” Nadareishvili said.

Georgia’s participation in the expo is organized by the Enterprise Georgia agency, in partnership with the National Tourism Administration and the National Wine Agency.
