Adam Kinzinger – Ensuring sovereignty of Georgia and Ukraine is in interests of Europe and US

A hearing on the topic “Undermining Democracy: Kremlin Tools of Malign Political Influence” was held at the House of Representatives of the US Congress.

In the opening statement, Congressman Adam Kinzinger talked about open hostilities between Georgia and Russia that began in 2008 that was preceded by the distribution of Russian passports to Georgian citizens that laid the ground to the Russian intervention in Georgia.

Kinzinger underlined that both Georgia and Ukraine had been reliable partners to the US since gaining independence and that ensuring the sovereignty of Georgia and Ukraine was in the interests of Europe and the US.

Participants of the hearing and the invited guests condemned Russian tools of political influence and aggressive activities that include the occupation of territories of neighbors, propaganda and attack on democratic institutions.
