Adam Kinzinger calls UNM Chair’s arrest ‘Incredibly Dumb move’

Congressman Adam Kinzinger once again echoed the arrest of Nika Melia, Chairman of the opposition United National Movement Party. He shared a statement by the US Embassy in Georgia on Twitter.

“Incredibly Dumb move by Georgian Government against a legitimate political party. Sad day for democracy in the Country of Georgia”, Congressman tweeted.

Earlier this morning, the police arrested the Chair of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) Nika Melia. Shortly after the UNM leader’s arrest, Adam Kinzinger tweeted: “This is a very concerning move by the Government of Georgia. Given the tense situation, I call on the Government to stand down from this dramatic action. We are all watching”.
