Prosecutor's Office -- Offense committed by Otar Partskhaladze is less heavy crime

A statement has been made about the case of former Chief Prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze at the Chief Prosecutor’s Office. According to the agency, GEL 5000 bail was ordered for former Chief Prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze, as well as Mikheil Chokheli, for beating former General Auditor Lasha Tordia.

“The case concerns the incident that occurred at the El – Centro club on May 13, 2017, when Otar Partskhaladze and Mikheil Chokheli beat Lasha Tordia,” prosecutor Emzar Gagnidze said.

According to him, the offense of Otar Partskhaladze and Mikheil Chokheli is not a heavy crime and therefore, bail was ordered for them.

“According to the conclusion of the forensic examination, Lasha Tordia received a slight health injury as a result of beating. Accordingly, Lasha Tordia was recognized as a victim, while bail was ordered for Otar Partskhaladze and Mikheil Chokheli due to the fact that the mentioned action is less heavy crime,” Gagnidze stated.

The pre-trial will be held on December 20, 2018.
