Tbilisi City Court approves extradition arrest for Albanian citizen linked to call centres

Following the petition from the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office, the Tbilisi City Court has approved the extradition arrest of an Albanian citizen wanted on Interpol’s red notice on charges related to fraudulent call centres.

The individual, sought by Germany, held a leading position in an organized criminal group responsible for multi-episode fraud and money laundering.

“The arrested person played a leadership role in the criminal group, leading a team of over 50 individuals. Holding the position of Customer Support Manager, he facilitated the distribution and support of a portfolio of electronic products and services used for transnational criminal activities.

As a result of criminal activity, the number of identified victims living only in the territory of Bavaria of Germany exceeds 1000 people, and the amount of damage is more than 42 million euros.

The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office will undertake the necessary legal procedures for the extradition of the detained individual to Germany,” Prosecutor’s Office stated.
