Non-stop rain causes problems in Adjara region

It has been raining for already the third day in the western, seaside region of Adjara. Non-stop raining has caused problems in the region. Parts of Griboedov, Pushkin and Chavchavadze Streets in Batumi city are flooded.

Ground floors of houses are flooded at Fridon Khalvashi Street. Locals claim that their furniture and household facilities are damaged. They say that outdated and damaged sewage and drainage systems cause much inconvenience every time it is raining in Batumi city.

Batumi Water Company denies accusations and claims that abundant precipitation caused problems in the city. It says that all emergency calls are reacted in time and that water pumping works are underway in the intensive regime.

Weather forecasters also prognosticate the storm in the magnitude of 4-5 at the Black Sea today.
