Foreign Minister: We brought home 12 700 Georgian citizens in a short time

The members of the Georgian Government met with the Georgian citizens returned from abroad.

As Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani pointed out at the meeting, the Foreign Ministry had two goals: to assist Georgians abroad and help them to return homeland during coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Minister, “the very fact that Georgia, a small country, managed to bring 12 700 citizens from abroad in a short time, is a very serious achievement.”

Davit Zalkaliani also noted that “Georgia managed to help its 21,000 citizens on the spot.”

“74 special flights were carried out from different countries of the world. Georgian Airlines was actively involved in this process. We also cooperated with MyWay Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines,” said David Zalkaliani.
