Georgian Health Ministry this week will approve the protocol, prepared by the group of experts, for assessment, prevention and management of allergic reactions, if any, after the vaccination, said Tamar Gabunia, Deputy Health Minister. She claimed that no acute allergic reactions were to be anticipated after the vaccination.

Tamar Gabunia reported after the interagency Coordination Council that training is launched at all medical institutions, which will be involved in the vaccination program.

The Deputy Minister said that vaccines sale was strictly regulated on the global market and the Covax platform was the only channel regulated on the state level.

She also explained that trilateral negotiations were ongoing among Georgia, the European Union member states and vaccine producers. The share of the commercial sector was not identified in this mechanism at the current stage.

“The negotiations are underway on an interstate level. However, when the supplies increase and production goes high, the private sector may have an increased role,” Gabunia said.
