Zurab Abashidze: Russia tries to stand aside from tragic fact of Archil Tatunashvili’s death
Zurab Abashidze, Special Representative of Georgian Prime Minister for Relations with Russia says that the Georgian side used all the international mechanisms to ensure transfer of body of Archil Tatunashvili, Georgian citizen who died in occupied Tskhinvali region, to the family in a timely manner and ensure release of two Georgian citizens detained together with Tatunashvili.
According to Abashidze, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili also made a step and applied to Russian authorities with the request to resolve the problem. “However, Russia tries to stand aside from the tragic fact of Archil Tatunashvili’s death and only expresses concern. Russia will not evade the responsibility of what had happened,” Abashidze stated.
