Within the framework of structural reforms in the government, the number of ministries will be reduced from 14 to 11, – Mamuka Bakhtadze, candidate presented for post of Prime Minister stated.
As Mamuka Bakhtadze noted Parliament of Georgia should express confidence to a new government and the program presented by him, which is based on small government concept.
“Within the framework of structural reforms planned in the government, the number of ministries will be reduced from 14 to 11. This reform is part of a government program and needs to be done immediately, requires legislative amendments that require relevant time and procedures”, – Bakhtadze said.
According to him as program requires legislative amendments, the current structure and formal composition of the government will be presented before the parliament for gaining confidence in the nearest future. “Approximately, in 2-3 weeks, after when legislative and personnel changes are implemented, we will once again undergo through these procedures – consideration in committees, factions and at plenary session, along with already reshuffled Cabinet of Ministers, ” – said Mamuka Bakhtadze.
Candidate for the Prime Minister’s post has held a meeting with the members of the parliamentary majority today.
Georgian parliamentary majority nominated Mamuka Bakhtadze as the candidate for the Prime Minister of Georgia. Bakhtadze said that he will appear before the parliament with his vision based on four principles.
