According to Volski, Paweł Herczynski has no answer regarding the nature of the rally that EU foreign ministers held on Rustaveli Avenue alongside radical opposition politicians and extremists.

“They directly called on society, particularly youngsters, for confrontation and the overthrow of the government. Direct statements saying take up weapons and shoot were not made, but demonstrations of that physically, financially and politically were taking place, and this process continues.

Therefore, Herczynski obviously has nothing left but to tell society that he has nothing to do with this, but the reality is different. We know the reason. This is not only directed against the government but the entire country and Georgian society regardless of political affiliation.

Naturally, this action has a very specific objective: to draw society into a confrontation that will bring it to economic collapse, even though the confrontation itself will ultimately benefit the European Union,” he said.

“The European Union has never supported violence, neither in Georgia nor elsewhere,” EU Ambassador to Georgia Paweł Herczynski told reporters on the occasion of Europe Day in Kakheti. The Ambassador stated that the EU supported democracy, rule of law and human rights.
