Vice-Speaker Tsilosani announces nationwide breast cancer awareness campaign
“October is dedicated to women’s health, with ‘Pink October’ marking international Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” Parliamentary Vice-Speaker Nino Tsilosani announced on Friday.
According to Tsilosani, the Georgian Dream Women’s Organisation will focus its October outreach entirely on women’s healthcare and preventative medicine.
“October is women’s health month, and our party’s women’s organisation will centre its October campaign around this crucial issue. Throughout the month, we will run engaging campaigns and host meetings in every region and city across Georgia,” Ms Tsilosani stated.
“Pink October is dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. We will lead public awareness initiatives and mobilise women to take advantage of free screening services—the most effective preventative measure against breast cancer. Alongside public outreach, we will hold expert-led conferences featuring professional medical doctors. These sessions will address key health topics tailored to women across all age groups, from twenty to sixty-plus,” she continued.
“Crucially, throughout October, we will create dedicated spaces where women can meet, share experiences, and discuss their health priorities. Most importantly, this initiative will give us direct insight into the essential requirements needed to ensure women’s health is prioritised within our policy framework,” Tsilosani added.
