Vashlijvari district populace demands declaration of a moratorium on constructions and establishment of experts group to study land sliding process on the Lisi Lake slope. The locals submitted a petition with about 5 000 signatures to the Tbilisi City Hall on Saturday.

Locals demand that Georgian and foreign experts studied the territory. They also urge the Tbilisi City Hall to install a monitoring system at the site.

Based on the petition, construction of the highway and blocks of apartments at Machavariani Street must be stopped till the expertise conclusion and results of the geological study become known.
