According to the member of the parliamentary majority Vano Zardiashvili, the state will do everything to prevent drug trafficking in Georgia.

In the conversation with the First Channel Vano Zardiashvili focused on liberalization of drug policy and noted that the Parliament, as well as the Government and the Inter-agency Commission are in the active phase of the working regime and the joint position will be presented in the nearest future.

According to him, a detailed discussion in the ruling team is underway regarding all articles of the legislative package prepared for liberalization of drug policy.

MP responded to the statement made by the rally participants saying that if changes does not be made in drug policy, “civil disobedience” will be started in the country.

“The position of the families of deceased drug users will be stricter than the 500 people gathered yesterday. The decision on this issue should be based on a wide consensus and public interests. No 200 or 400 people will be able to have influence on the state in order to add some excessive opinion to the draft law,” – Zardiashvili said.
