The Tbilisi City Court has ordered the detention of Zviad Kuprava, a member of the Tbilisi City Council representing the United National Movement, as a preventive measure.

The court approved the prosecutor’s request. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for November 19 at 12:00.

The State Security Service of Georgia detained Zviad Kuprava on October 1. He faces charges under Part 1 of Article 353 and Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, alleging calls to overthrow the state order and resistance against a government official, which carry a potential sentence of up to six years’ imprisonment.
