UNM's Pavlenishvili: Case for unity is clear; political forces are already in conflict; unified action will strengthen process

“The reason for unity is straightforward: political forces are already in conflict. We participate in protests together, share a common stance on current issues, and therefore, the more coordinated this format is, the better it will serve the process,” said Irakli Pavlenishvili, a member of the United National Movement.

Furthermore, he confirmed that plans are indeed in place to introduce this unity format to the public.

“When discussing the unification of various factions, it’s important to acknowledge that there have been instances where paths diverged. However, at present, the forces remaining within the resistance and protest movement, including the protest electorate, have demanded that these aligned groups become even more coordinated in their approach to both domestic and foreign issues. That’s the core of it. Society will learn more details, and of course, the United National Movement will participate in this process of unity. It’s not only the UNM and Ahali involved; there will be others as well. Gakharia’s party adopts a different stance; they are not willing to participate in protests or the opposition. Therefore, I believe others do not regard their party as part of this unity, and Lelo itself will better clarify Lelo’s position.

The reason for this unity is simple: political forces are already in conflict. We participate in protests together, we share a common position on current issues, and the more coordinated this format is, the better it will be for the process. We have carefully considered this and are preparing to introduce the unity framework to the public. There is no election process underway at the moment, nor can there be one. I am not ruling anything out, but as it stands, the election process has not started, and I cannot say more,” Irakli Pavlenishvili stated.
