UNM works with OSCE/ODIHR on Ethics Code

Leaders of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) party are meeting with representatives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) from Warsaw to draft the Ethics Code for the party.

According to the UNM Chair, Levan Khabeishvili, inter-party democracy is the key, and the party members should “get used to making decisions democratically through wider public discussion,” therefore, the process is significant for the UNM.

“This should be an impetus and contagious to other political parties because internal democracy is important both within the party and for our country,” he said.

Also, as Levan Khabeishvili said, the party leadership asked the OSCE/ODIHR to assign long-term election observers to Georgia to monitor the 2024 parliamentary elections.
