Deputy Economy Minister: Developing small aviation is very important for Georgia

“Developing small aviation is very important for our country, and therefore the Georgian government is taking significant steps in this direction,” Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Tamar Ioseliani told journalists following the opening of the Ambassadori Aviation Village in Kachreti.

Ioseliani said it was an important day for the Kakheti region.

According to the deputy minister, the airfield was registered by the Civil Aviation Agency several days ago.

“For years, relevant steps have been taken at both the legislative and practical levels, and today we are witnessing the private sector becoming involved in the development of small aviation through investments of this kind,” Ioseliani said.

She noted that the Georgian government is making significant investments to promote domestic mobility and support the development of airports.

“Just recently, tenders were announced for the construction of terminals at both Telavi and Mestia airports. Accordingly, small aviation will also play its part in the development of both the economy and tourism,” Ioseliani said.
