UN overwhelmingly votes for a resolution to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted for the resolution to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

UN’s 141 countries, among them Georgia, voted pro, 5 countries (Russia, Belarus, Syria, Eritrea and North Korea) – con, and 35 countries abstained, including Armenia and China.

The UN demanded that Moscow stop fighting and withdraw its military forces.

The resolution ended a rare emergency session called by the U.N. Security Council.
