Ukrainian Citizens to receive financial assistance, while housing program to be terminated
Ukrainian citizens who entered Georgia due to ongoing hostilities will receive financial assistance of 300 GEL per family and 45 GEL per additional person from July 15. Tbilisi City Hall reported on Sunday.
As the City Hall explains, the international organizations (World Vision and UNHCR) are also considering an aid package of 235 GEL per person.
Based on the above, Tbilisi City Hall decided to terminate the ongoing housing program for Ukrainian citizens on July 31.
“Within the housing program, Tbilisi has already hosted more than 5,100 people. More than 2,300 people are staying in 40 hotels in the capital. Tbilisi City Hall spent 11 million GEL for this program; the amount will reach about 14 million GEL at the end of the month. Tbilisi City Hall launched this program in March of this year, and it will continue until August 1,” City Hall said in a statement.
