Dmytro Berezhnyi, Ukraine’s Chargé d’Affaires in Georgia, has met Giorgi Zurabashvili, Georgia’s First Deputy Foreign Minister, the Ukrainian Embassy in Georgia said.

According to the embassy, the two sides confirmed their readiness to support each other’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity within internationally recognised borders.

“Giorgi Zurabashvili was briefed on recent developments in Ukraine, including the aftermath of Russian missile and drone attacks on civilian targets and critical infrastructure, which have caused many civilian casualties.

The two sides also expressed readiness to further develop mutually beneficial bilateral relations in all areas of common interest and to continue coordinating their actions in multilateral formats, in particular within GUAM, the Organisation for Democracy and Economic Development. Zurabashvili highlighted the prospects that Georgia’s strategic infrastructure projects offer Ukraine, particularly in the context of developing the Middle Corridor.

Berezhnyi thanked the Georgian Government for its political support within universal and regional international organisations, as well as for the humanitarian aid it has provided to Ukraine. He expressed hope that the Georgian Government would continue providing humanitarian assistance to support Ukraine’s energy sector,” the embassy said.
