“The development of Kutaisi International Airport began 14 years ago, and today, based on passenger traffic, it stands as Georgia’s second-largest airport,” stated Levan Moseshvili, Director General of the United Airports of Georgia (UAG).

According to Moseshvili, Kutaisi Airport has transformed over the past 14 years, adding a new passenger terminal, expanding infrastructure, and enhancing services. Speaking about the airport’s success, he highlighted the dynamic growth in passenger traffic and noted that intensive work is underway to add new routes.

“When Kutaisi Airport opened 14 years ago, we handled approximately 12,800 passengers in its first year. By 2025, that figure had risen to 1.8 million passengers. Currently, flights from Kutaisi International Airport operate to 32 destinations across 16 countries, 25 of which are European routes. We are continually working to enter new markets and launch additional routes. We want to assist our passengers, residents, and tourists in having direct connectivity to various European destinations. Our goal is to connect major countries, cities, and capitals around the world with Kutaisi International Airport,” stated the Director General of the United Airports of Georgia.

Levan Moseshvili also noted that it has been 10 years since the airport’s primary partner, Wizz Air, established its base in Kutaisi. The Director General of the United Airports of Georgia congratulated the Hungarian airline and wished it continued success.
