Two citizens of Iran sentenced to 16 years in prison for drug crime

Rustavi City Court today found two citizens of Iran guilty for storage and illegal import of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities to Georgia – Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia reported.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the citizens of Iran, P.G. and S.G., brought 8 pills (0.1922gr) of methadone, and more than 100 grams of heroin into Georgia.

The citizens of Iran have been charged under Paragraph “a”, Article 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving the illegal import of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities to Georgia, and Paragraph 6, Subparagraph “a”, Article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving illegal storage of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities.

The detainees were imposed prison sentence to 16 years each.
