MP Levan Machavariani: Hopefully, EP sees sense, looks at the map, and realises how vital Georgia is to the EU

“They accuse us of things that do not exist in reality, while completely ignoring the genuine issues plaguing other nations. Unsurprisingly, in the eyes of our citizens, this is utter nonsense, and nobody takes it seriously,” stated parliamentary majority member MP Levan Machavariani.

According to the MP, if members of the European Parliament take a look at the map, they will realise Georgia’s critical importance.

“If the European Parliament wants to carry any credibility, I would strongly advise them to speak out about other countries as well. Let them speak about Ukraine and Moldova. Let them address the fact that these two nations are drowning in corruption, human rights are routinely violated, and opposition parties have been outlawed. If they were to speak out on those matters, then perhaps their baseless allegations against us might appear more convincing.

However, when they exclusively target us with fabricated accusations while turning a blind eye to the deep-seated problems elsewhere, our public naturally sees right through the absurdity and pays no attention. The only way forward is through dialogue, but it must be a fair discussion based on arguments and substance.

Hopefully, they will see sense, look at the map, and realise just how vital Georgia is to the European Union. They must also accept that they failed to replace us through a revolution, which they attempted five separate times, nor could they defeat us at the ballot box, despite running the entire election campaign on behalf of their foreign agent proxies,” Machavariani stated.
