Tbilisi Mayor: Violence is categorically unacceptable; such actions to get appropriate response

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze categorically condemned violence in response to a question about violence against civil activists, stating that he has expressed this position multiple times in the past.

Kaladze pointed out that certain television stations have been promoting public confrontation and encouraging revolutionary scenarios in recent months.

“I oppose violence, and it is categorically unacceptable, unlike you. Unfortunately, you have been doing everything in your power to promote violence, polarization, and public confrontation. You are a television station that encourages revolutionary scenarios. Everything that has happened in recent months and years is a direct result of your actions.

Violence and confrontation against anyone are always wrong, and it’s even worse when you encourage and glorify those who have abused and burned police officers alive,” Kaladze said.

Kaladze emphasized that any form of violence will be met with an appropriate response from law enforcement.

“Once again, I repeat: violence is unacceptable, and I condemn it from both sides. Such actions will always be met with an appropriate response,” concluded the Tbilisi Mayor.
