Tbilisi Mayor: Radical group targets ruling party and media with hate speech

“The radical group, through provocative actions, aggression, obscene shouts, swearing, and hateful language, confronted ruling party members and supporters, the media, ordinary passers-by, and anyone who does not stand with them,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze responded to recent incidents at the GD’s election headquarters during today’s municipal government session.

Kaladze thanked members and supporters of the ruling party for their patience.

“Everyone saw clearly what unfolded around the Tbilisi election headquarters. The radical group, through provocative actions, aggression, obscene shouts, swearing, and hateful language, confronted ruling party members and supporters, the media, ordinary passers-by, and anyone who does not stand with them. Their goal is obvious – to divide society and hinder the election campaign. I would like to thank all our supporters and teammates who have responded patiently to the aggression of these violent groups. This is our answer to their provocation, while the population’s response will come on October 4, ending with Tbilisi’s victory,” Kaladze said.

The mayor stressed that, as a candidate for re-election, he values a peaceful environment in which he can communicate openly with citizens.

“These elections will determine the future of Tbilisi. I appreciate the trust of our citizens and feel responsible before them. That is why we began our campaign earlier than planned – to present both completed projects and future plans. We want to conduct this process calmly, meeting openly with voters and listening to their concerns,” he stated.
