Minister of Internal Affairs, alongside deputies, family members of police officers killed in 2008 war, laid wreath at memorial located in Ministry’s courtyard

Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tmazashvili, alongside his deputies, heads of different departments and family members of the police officers killed in the 2008 war while performing their official duties, laid a wreath at a memorial located in the Ministry’s courtyard.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Sulkhan Tamazashvili met with the family members of fallen police officers and awarded them with the Medal for Bravery, a posthumous award conferred upon their heroic relatives.

The Minister pledged support to the families and once again emphasized the heroism of police officers in the fight for Georgia’s territorial integrity and unity.

Earlier, the Minister visited Mukhatgverdi Brothers Cemetery alongside President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Chairman Shalva Papuashvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, and representatives of the legislative and executive authorities.
