Tbilisi Mayor: EMAAR Group invests in high-paying jobs and infrastructure development

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced at a municipal government meeting that EMAAR Group, a prestigious real estate development company and a recognized leader in global investments, is making its entrance into the Georgian market. The scale of the company’s planned investment is unprecedented in the history of Georgia’s independence.

Mayor Kaladze summarized the recent official visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to Abu Dhabi, where an agreement was signed with EMAAR Group for a remarkable $6 billion investment in a multifunctional development project. This initiative is designed to enhance infrastructure in Tbilisi, Batumi, and Gonio.

“The company will invest in critical infrastructure projects in Tbilisi and Adjara that are vital for Georgia’s economy. Georgian companies will participate in these projects, generating high-paying jobs for our citizens. I can confidently say that no investment of this scale has ever been made in Georgia since gaining independence. I am proud, both as a Georgian citizen and as mayor of our capital,” he stated.

In discussing additional initiatives at the municipal government meeting, Kaladze mentioned that TbilServiceGroup would be repairing 12 specialized elevators for individuals with disabilities. He pointed out that although these elevators had been installed at various locations across Tbilisi, eight had fallen victim to vandalism.

To prevent future incidents, he proposed the installation of video surveillance cameras and urged citizens to take responsibility for the maintenance of municipal infrastructure.

Additionally, the mayor announced that the Tbilisi Development Fund has launched the reconstruction of a historic building at #29 Pirosmani Street. He emphasized that all details and ornaments would be preserved in their original form, with the project expected to last 18 months. Kaladze noted that the reconstruction will “improve living conditions for 53 families and increase the value of their properties.”

Finally, Kakha Kaladze revealed the completion of a new recreational space in the Didi Dighomi district, which spans an impressive 7,000 square meters.
