Tbilisi Mayor condemns opposition tactics: Threats of overthrow versus disruption of municipal services
“It is unthinkable that one side of the opposition threatens the people with overthrow, while the other, in the event of victory, plans to halt the work of essential municipal services,” declared Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.
Kaladze responded to the statement made by the Coalition for Change regarding their refusal to recognise the results of the upcoming local government elections.
The Mayor emphasised that there is no room for violence or radical groups in Georgia, neither now nor in the future.
“The opposition is divided into two camps. One side threatens the Georgian people with overthrow, and the other claims that, should they win, they will stop the functioning of vital services in the capital’s municipality. In today’s Georgia, and in the future, there is no place for violent groups, neither in politics nor in everyday life,” Kaladze stated.
