The Zero Compromise Natural Wine Festival is taking place in Tbilisi on May 2–3 as part of the state program to promote Georgian wine in the local market, the National Wine Agency stated.
In coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the Agency is implementing this program for the second consecutive year.
“Under the program, wine exhibitions, competitions, and festivals are held across Georgia to help strengthen wine tourism and consumer culture,” the statement reads.
The annual Zero Compromise festival, launched in 2018 by the Natural Wine Association, brings together 84 local association members and 30 wineries from France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Mexico, Turkey, and Slovenia.
Participating winegrowers and winemakers follow natural practices: they avoid systemic chemicals, mineral fertilizers, and herbicides in their vineyards, and produce wine without industrial additives—commonly known as ‘natural wine.’
The festival showcases these traditional winemaking methods. Each year, the event attracts wine importers, journalists, writers, and professionals worldwide, offering Georgian winemakers the opportunity to present their products directly to potential buyers. This year, with support from the National Wine Agency, American wine professionals and international experts are attending the festival.
