Tbilisi Central pledges swift reconstruction after Borjomi Station market fire

Tbilisi Central administration has issued a statement regarding a fire that broke out at the so-called Borjomi Station area on 30 April.

The company has declared its readiness to quickly prepare a reconstruction project for the trading space at the Borjomi Station site, which will fully comply with modern standards and requirements for operating such facilities.

According to the statement, “The fire completely destroyed 12,000 square metres of commercial and storage space. JSC Tbilisi Central has been operating the fire-damaged market area at the Borjomi Station site under a 49-year long-term lease agreement with Georgian Railways. “Despite significant losses, Tbilisi Central is committed to working with the market operator to offer affected traders favourable terms for resuming their commercial activities.

We are taking into account the situation of the affected traders and will do everything possible to help them return to their normal rhythm of life,” the statement reads.
