State Grant Management Agency Head: Rules set to oversee grant execution and financial accountability

Tamar Zodelava, Chairperson of the State Grant Management Agency, spoke on the radio program Business Partner about the agency’s efforts to ensure transparency in the use of state-issued grants.

Zodelava noted that the agency has developed a grant issuance and monitoring policy, approved on July 18, which is publicly accessible and serves as the basis for overseeing both the implementation and spending of grants by public organisations.

“We have created a clear framework for issuing and monitoring grants, which is available to all interested parties. I’d like to take this opportunity to inform the public that these documents can be accessed on the agency’s official Facebook page – LEPL State Grant Management Agency,” said Zodelava.

She emphasised that monitoring and control are essential to transparency and accountability.

“We will assess both the outcomes of the funded projects—how ideas were realized and what impact they had on citizens—and the financial side, ensuring full disclosure of how state funds are spent. This is a transparent process, and every citizen has the right to know how public money is being used,” she added.
