247 applications advance in small grants competition

The State Grant Management Agency has advanced 247 applications to the review stage in its newly launched small grants competition.

Chairperson Tamar Zodelava discussed the process in an interview with the GPB First Channel’s Business Partner program. She noted that a total of 403 applications were submitted, of which 346 were formally registered. After removing duplicates, 247 proposals met official requirements and were transferred to the Council for evaluation.

“There was a very large turnout. This is a new initiative, and we want as many interested public organizations as possible to benefit from it. The Council will review and make a decision on these 247 applications next week,” Zodelava said.

Asked how many applications may ultimately be approved, Zodelava stressed that all proposals have an equal chance of success.

“This is a competition of ideas, so it is difficult to say in advance how many projects will be supported. Any application reviewed by the Council has an equal opportunity, and the decision will be made based on the quality of the idea and the established criteria, which are accessible to all applicants,” she explained.
