Speaker to spotlight non-recognition policy, security challenges at IPU session
“I will spotlight non-recognition policy, its strengthening and global security challenges in my speech at the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU),” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
The Speaker said the Georgian parliamentary delegation met with Tulia Ackon, Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, who plans to run for IPU presidency.
“We met last year, and we were interested in her presidential plans and how she sees the role of the IPU in our turbulent world,” he said.
On her part, Tulia Ackon added that the parties “have spoken a lot of things, including bilateral relations between our countries and national parliaments,” adding that she was interested in the support of the Georgian parliamentary delegation.
“We have had a very fruitful discussion in respect of that, and the challenges that our countries go through also,” the Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania concluded.
Georgian parliamentary delegation, led by Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, participates in the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Luanda, Angola, on October 23-27.
