Speaker: Some European bureaucrats think they can jump over Georgia to connect Europe with Asia; no one has ever won geographic brawl

“The Georgian government not only rescued Georgia from economic collapse by disregarding calls and advice of Brussels, but it also saved the European Union,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

Shalva Papuashvili spoke about the significance of the Middle Corridor and Georgia’s role in this project.

“This is a natural process, and there is nothing new about it. For centuries, the Silk Road has been passing through Georgia; then and now, it is the shortest and most secure way to connect Europe and Asia. Some European bureaucrats have no clue about geography. In one of the TV stories, we saw that the Minister for European Affairs couldn’t find Iran on a map. I doubt they can find where Georgia is.

Some European bureaucrats think they can jump over Georgia to connect Europe with Asia, but no one has ever won a geography brawl. The bureaucrats who believe that they will be able to manage to do anything by bypassing Georgia and ignoring it will fail.

As for Georgia’s role, if we trusted Brussels and engaged in economic war with Russia, for which they prompted us to do, what gas would they receive or what would they transport to the European Union? They should think about that. The problem with Brussels bureaucracy is that they are people elected by nobody and do not act in the interests of EU citizens,” he said.

According to the Speaker, European bureaucrats see nothing beyond their offices, where pieces of paper are put on their tables with instructions written on them on how they should act.
