Speaker slams German Ambassador for manipulating with deceit, disregarding truth, violation of rules-based international order
“The well-known German honesty, in such cases, includes apologizing, but in Mr Peter’s case, it seems that it is permissible to first manipulate with lies, and then disregard the truth,” wrote Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili in his Facebook post.
Shalva Papuashvili echoed the February 24 statement by German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, saying the EU’s 20th package on sanctions included both a legislative proposal and an evidence package on the Kulevi Oil Terminal.
“Rules-based international order was violated, but where is honesty?” he said.
The European Union removed the Kulevi Oil Terminal operating in Georgia from the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. David O’Sullivan, EU Sanctions Envoy, informed Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili about the decision in a letter.
