Speaker Papuashvili: Parliamentary vote on Tamaz Borashvili’s nomination as Head of SSSG set for Wednesday

“Geka Geladze is transitioning to the post of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. First and foremost, I wish to express my gratitude to Geka Geladze for his work as Head of the Security Service and wish him success in his future endeavours,” stated Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili.

Furthermore, Papuashvili announced that the parliamentary vote to confirm the new Head of the SSSG will take place on Wednesday.

“The official submission by the Prime Minister nominating Tamaz Borashvili has already been received, and we will refer it today to the Defence and Security Committee. In accordance with parliamentary rules of procedure, which require scheduling a committee hearing subject to a two-day notice period, the committee will convene on Wednesday morning, followed by the parliamentary confirmation vote on the candidate later that same day,” Papuashvili noted.
