The winner of the GPB First Channel’s music megashow Khalkhuri is the ensemble “Shemodzhakhili.” The ensemble’s victory was announced during the grand finale of the show.

The winning ensemble will represent Georgia at Rudolstadt, the most prestigious folk music festival in the world.

The winner was chosen by a special jury composed of Dato Tsintsadze, Tamar Gegeshidze, Mikheil Chikviladze, and Teona Tsiramua.

Khalkhuri is a unique national project that brings together folk song and dance ensembles, musical families, and individual performers from across Georgia.

The show began with 40 contestants selected from various regions of the country. Of these, 20 advanced to the semi-finals, and 10 reached the final stage to compete for the title.

The musical megashow Khalkhuri premiered on the First Channel on March 30.
