Severe rain, hail, gale-force winds, and sea storms expected across Georgia
The National Environment Agency (NEA) has warned of widespread rain across most of Georgia from late afternoon today until tomorrow morning.
Heavy rainfall is forecast in localised areas across Abkhazia, Adjara, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Kakheti. Thunderstorms, hail, strong gale-force winds, and rough sea conditions with a 3–4 storm surge scale are also possible.
“The anticipated rainfall may cause water levels to rise on rivers, lead to flash flooding on small rivers, and trigger or reactivate landslide and mudflow processes in hilly and mountainous regions (moderate risk level),” the National Environment Agency stated in its warning bulletin.
