Senior inspector from Samtskhe-Javakheti Police charged with stalking

The Special Investigation Service has uncovered a case of stalking involving a senior inspector from the Samtskhe-Javakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Georgia. The investigation revealed that in 2023, the accused law enforcement officer engaged in unwanted communication with a woman, using phone calls, various applications, and engaging in illegal stalking on the street. The accused repeatedly sought a personal meeting and relationship with the victim.

“The victim suffered mental problems and moral damage due to the defendant’s actions, leading to significant lifestyle changes.

The Special Investigation Service promptly investigated upon receiving the victim’s report and gathered evidence, including surveillance camera recordings, detailed information about calls, text messages from the officer’s mobile phone, and messages from the WhatsApp application.

Based on the Prosecutor’s Office resolution, the senior inspector from the Samtskhe-Javakheti Police Department has been charged with stalking under Article 1511(1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” the Special Investigation Service states.
