Salome Zurabishvili: I believe that with President Macron we will finalize the conversation started with Giscard d'Estaing
President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili will pay a visit to France on February 17. Ahead of the visit, Zurabishvili has published a post on her official Facebook page:
“In the 1970s, when, as a French diplomat, I met the President of France for the first time, instead of scheduled issues, I started speaking about Georgia.
After Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, I have met several other Presidents of France and the deepening Georgia-France relation was always the main issue of discussions.
This is one of my historical commitments, and now, when I’m already going to meet with President Macron under a different status, I believe that we will finalize the conversation started with Giscard d’Estaing.
My visit to France will begin with a meeting with our Diaspora”, – the post of Salome Zurabishvili reads.
As part of the visit, President of Georgia will hold high-level meetings with President Emmanuel Macron, and President of the Senate Gérard Larcher to discuss prospects for further advancing Georgia-France relations and priorities of Georgia’s foreign policy.
