Salome Zurabishvili congratulates the candidates nominated for posts of heads of European institutions
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili congratulates the candidates selected by EU Council on their nomination for the posts of heads of European institutions.
The President has published several statements on her official Twitter page.
“President of Georgia congratulates the EU upon reaching an initial agreement to nominate two powerful women Ursula Von der Leyen and Christine Lagarde. Hope that the European Parliament will go along!
Christine Lagarde, congratulations on your nomination by the EU Council to head the European Central Bank. Your international leadership and responsible management is set to continue the European Central Bank’s positive path”, – wrote Salome Zurabishvili.
Georgian President congratulates the former Prime Minister of Belgium on his appointment as the next President of the EU Council
“Congratulations to Prime Minister Charles Michel of Belgium for his appointment as the next President of the EU Council. I look forward to working with you to further deepen Georgia’s path toward Europe”, – President wrote in her congratulatory statement.
Salome Zurabishvili made a statement about presenting the candidacy of Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borrell Fontelles to the post of EU’s High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security.
„I was pleased to hear of Josep Borrell Fontelles’s nomination by the EU Council to be appointed as the next European External Action Service High Representative. Georgia has been pushing for further sectoral integration into the European Union and I look forward to a dynamic continuation of that path“ – President wrote on Twitter.
