Russia should be held responsible for violation of Archil Tatunashvili's right to life - Giorgi Tughushi
Russia should be held responsible for the violation of Archil Tatunashvili’s right to life, – said Giorgi Tughushi, a member of European Georgia.
“The Strasbourg Human Rights Court is an opportunity that, of course, should be used by the Georgian government and it is good that the NGO sector is active in this direction. The main purpose of this suit is to raise the issue of Russia’s responsibility for the vandalism committed. In this case, I mean Russia’s responsibility for the violation of Archil Tatunashvili’s right to life.
Ministry of Justice should be active in this direction as much as possible, but we remember bad examples, including in relation to the Russia-Georgia Council, when the Ministry was not active in promoting the enforcement of the decision on the compensation, which Russia lost to Georgia”, – he said.
The Georgian government works on a lawsuit to be filed in Strasbourg Court in relation to Archil Tatunashvili’s death case against the Russian Federation.
