Reservists of Georgia’s 20th Territorial Defence Brigade take oath at Krtsanisi Military Base

In a solemn ceremony at Krtsanisi Military Base, members of the 201st, 202nd, 203rd, and 204th Territorial Defence Battalions of the 20th Territorial Defense Brigade of the National Guard took their military oath.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the event began with the performance of the national anthem and was attended by the Chief of the National Guard, Brigadier General Roman Jokhadze, who congratulated the reservists on taking the oath and wished them success. Brigadier General Jokhadze congratulated the reservists on their induction, wished them success, and expressed special gratitude to the women enrolled in the reserve, presenting them with gifts.

Reservists demonstrating high discipline and outstanding results during training received certificates of appreciation. The battalions are composed of citizens from Tbilisi, Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli, and Shida Kartli regions.

The reservists undergo four years of training, including 45 days of intensive combat exercises annually, aimed at equipping them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in combat and crisis response.

During the period of reserve service, reservists benefit from medical insurance. Upon completion of reserve service, they are considered to have completed national military service for enlisting.
